Marella splendens, 16 mm in ventral view, Burgess Shale, BC, Canada. The Taphonomy of the Greater Phyllopod Bed community has been analysed by Caron & Jackson (2006) who concluded that the animals were preserved within their habitat with only minor disturbance during burial.
